The gasoline particulate filter (GPF) is designed for gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines to reduce particulate emissions, can meet the Euro 6c emissions standard for gasoline vehicles. The GDI engines help improve fuel economy and therefore reduce CO2 emissions; but they have higher particulate emissions compared to multiport fuel injection engines.
