Vulcanized resin 2402 (phenolic resin 2402), the alkyl group is in the para position of the phenolic hydroxyl group. The resin molecule ends with a para-alkyl group. At the vulcanization temperature, the molecules will not react chemically.
The resin forms a hydrogen bond with the rubber surface and has good adhesion. The tertiary carbon on the resin alkyl group turns the alkyl group into a branched structure.
Therefore, the tert-octyl phenolic resin has better compatibility with many rubbers and oils, can prolong the scorching time of the material, and improve the processing performance and operational safety.
