Properties:Glutaric acid is a needle or large oblique crystal. Melting point: 96-98°C, Boiling point: 303°C. Easily soluble in water, anhydrous ethanol and ether, soluble in benzene, chloroform, slightly soluble in petroleum ether
Uses:Glutaric acid is mainly used to produce Glutaric anhydride. In the field of medicine, it is used in the production of α-Ketoglutaric acid, Peroxyglutaric acid, B-(4-chlorophenyl) glutaric acid and the production of antihypertensive intermediates. In industry, it is used as an initiator in the synthesis of resins, rubbers and plasticizers, as well as in welding adhesives.
