About Anti-TP
Syphilis is a treatable infection caused by the bacteria Treponema pallidum (TP) that is mainly transmitted sexually, but can also be transmitted from mother to fetus during pregnancy or birth. If left untreated the disease can spread and cause considerable organ damage. Serological tests in addition to patients’ clinical history, are currently the primary methods for the diagnosis and management of syphilis.
