·The QSFP-40G-SRBD transceiver internally multiplexes the XLPPI 4x10G interface into two 20Gb/s electrical channels, using bi-directional optics to transmit and receive each channel over a single simplex LC fiber. This allows for a total bandwidth of 40Gbps over duplex LC cable. this allows for the reuse of installed LC duplex cabling infrastructure for 40GbE applications.

·The QSFP-40G-SRBD is a quad-channel, LC-duplex, pluggable, fiber optic QSFP+ transceiver for 40 Gigabit Ethernet applications. It consolidates four electrical data channels in each direction onto a single LC duplex fiber optic cable for transmission. The transceiver is a high-performance module for short-range duplex data communications and interconnect applications. Each electrical channel operates at 10.3125 Gbps and is compliant with the 40GE XLPPI interface.

·Link distances are up to 100 meters using OM3 fiber and up to 150 meters using OM4 fiber. The modules operate on a multimode fiber system with a nominal wavelength of 850 nm at one end and 900 nm at the other. The electrical interface uses a 38-contact QSFP+ type edge connector. The optical interface uses a conventional LC duplex connector. The module uses proven integrated circuits and VCSEL technology to provide reliable long life, high performance and stable service.
