Water cooled chiller designed and manufactured by OUMAL consists of scroll compressor, water-cooled shell and tube type condenser, shell and tube condenser or stainless steel water tank coil or stainless steel plate heat exchanger as the evaporator and water pump. There are different types of evaporators for closed loop or open loop requirements depending on the needs of water chiller end users and different water chiller applications.

The working principle of the industrial water cooled chiller is :The shell and tube evaporator is used to exchange heat between water and refrigerant. The refrigerant system absorbs the heat load of the water and cools the water to produce cold water. The heat is transferred to the shell and tube condenser through the action of the refrigeration compressor. The refrigerant and water are used for heat exchange. The heat exchange allows the water to absorb the heat and then take the heat out of the external cooling tower through the water pipe to dissipate it (water cooling)).

It should be noted that industrial water-cooled chiller need to use cooling towers and pumps to provide cooling water source. Of course, it would be better if there is already a cooling water system.

 Since the cooling water temperature is less affected by the ambient temperature, the cooling efficiency of the water-cooled chiller is relatively stable. Even when the ambient temperature rises in the summer (autumn) season, the attenuation of its cooling capacity is much smaller than that of the air-cooled chiller. Another advantage of the water-cooled chiller is that since it does not use a condensing fan, it can be installed in some places with higher requirements for noise or indoor places without exhaust facilities.

    Water-cooled chillers are often used in occasions that require large cooling capacity due to their low cost and high energy efficiency ratio, such as air-conditioning refrigeration, temperature control of chemical reactors, and centralized refrigeration in factories.
