Silicon Metal 553 Silicon metal 553 is a commonly used grade. In the metal silicon 553, the silicon content should be as high as 98.5%. The contents of iron, aluminum, and calcium are 0.5%, 0.5%, and 0.3% respectively.Silicon 553 and silicon 441 are mainly used in the production of aluminum ingots.Adding silicon metal to aluminium alloys makes them strong and light.

Silicon metal is a gray and shiny semiconductor metal,also known as crystalline silicon or industrial silicon, is mainly used as an additive for non-ferrous alloys which smelted from quartz and coke in an electric furnace.
It is also known as non silicon alloy for industrial use. According to the content of Fe, Al and Ca in metal silicon, the metal silicon can be divided into 553、441、421、3303、2202、2502, etc. Metal silicon additional products include silicon powder, metal silicon slag, etc. Among them, silica fume is also called silica fume, micro silica fume, or silica fume, which is widely used in refractory and concrete industries.
The classification of metallic silicon is usually classified according to the content of iron, aluminum and calcium, silicon metal can be divided into different grades such as silicon metal 553/441/3303/2202 and 1101.
The chemical composition of metallic silicon is generally silicon, ferro, aluminum, and calcium. Therefore, the grade of metal silicon is divided according to the three main impurity contents of iron, aluminum and calcium.
For example:In the metal silicon grade 553, the contents of ferro, aluminum, and calcium are 0.5%, 0.5%, and 0.3%.
